SC fine of Rs 10 lakh on Baba Swami Om

The Supreme Court has imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Baba Swami Om. SC told that Swami Om opposed the appointment of Deepak Mishra as the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

When Justice Deepak Mishra was decided to appoint the 45th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Swami Om had strongly opposed it. Not only that, Swamy Om had filed a challenge petition in the court opposing this decision. Although the court rejected the petition of Swamy Om not only, but also imposed an economic penalty of 10 lakh on him, terming it a freak objection.
