Sankat Mochan operation began to evacuate Indians from Sudan

The Indian Government on Thursday 14th July 2016, morning launched operation “Sankat Mochan” to evacuate the Indians from South Sudan.Two C17 aircraft of Indian Air Force left for Juba with Minister of State for External Affair VK Singh onboard.

Till now hundreads of lives are hitted by the violence in South Sudan, because of clashes between government troops and forces loyal to Vice President Riek Machar.

According to the reports there are around 500 Indian citizens living in South Sudan.The operation is leaded by VK Singh.

Before leaving for the mission VK Singh told to the news agency that “We’ll make all possible efforts to bring back safely all Indian nationals who are stranded in Sudan”.

Noted that, VK Singh had led the operation "Rahat" to evacuate Indians from Yemen last year.
