Amidst Coronavirus, hygiene is very important in preventing the transmission and pathogenesis of diseases.  Accordingly, under the guidance and supervision of Narmada Development Minister Yogeshbhai Patel, Sayaji Hospital Sanitation campaignhas been organized in collaboration with Vadodara Municipal Corporation from Sunday.

MP Ranjan Bhatt, Mayor Dr. Jigisha Sheth, MLA Jitubhai Sukhadia, Officer on Special Duty and Education Secretary Dr. Vinod Rao, Medical Superintendent of Sayaji Hospital Dr. Ranjan Aiyyar, Shailesh Mistry of Vadodara Municipal Corporation, officials and activists remain present at the start of the campaign.

Yogeshbhai Patel instructed the concerned to carry out necessary repairs including filling of potholes in the internal roads of Sayaji Hospital premises as soon as the rains stop.  He was apprised of the electricity related issues including the tap and sewerage connection of Sayaji Hospital and hoped for its proper resolution in the near future.

Informing about this the Minister said,  a lot of issues came up during the inspection visit of Sayaji Hospital yesterday where Debris, brick rubble, rubbish were found. Intensive discussions were held with the officer on special duty, in connection with the celebration of the forthcoming birthday of the Prime Minister, the pioneer of clean India, and planned to carry out intensive clean-up from inside and outside the entire Sayaji Hospital complex on a war footing.

In view of that cleanliness drive started today with the help of 200 corona Warrior sanitation workers of the Corporation along with 35 garbage trucks, 4 dumpers, 5 tractors, 5 JCBs. While intensive cleaning of various wards inside the hospital has been carried out with the help of hospital cleaners.

Intensive sanitation of the entire open premises will be done as part of this sanitation festival. Be thank all the workers who participated in this cleanliness campaign. The medical superintendent of the hospital Dr. Ranjan Aiyyar and officials will also monitor the operation and see to it that the work get properly done.

Two days ago Dr. Aiyyar pointed out the difficulties caused by unauthorized  encroachment by a dhaba (canteen) near the Covid facility in the hospital premises. The facility was given 150 feet of space during the tenure of the previous Medical Superintendent against which a further 1500 feet of space was captured by this canteen which was obstacle to everyone. At the time of the recent fire incident, due to this encroachment, there was a lot of obstruction in the rush of ambulances and vehicles. Later this has been removed by the administration.

The minister also requested the citizens coming for treatment and the families of the patients to help in maintaining the internal and external cleanliness of the premises.
