Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar celebrated 88th anniversary of Air Force Day on 08 Oct 2020. On this occasion, a bicycle rally was organized in which Officers, staff and family members successfully completed a distance of 14 kms.
Later on the day, a webinar on the topic – “Why I want to be an Air Force Officer?” was conducted by class XI cadets through video conference. Motivational videos on Indian Air Force were also shown. As a part of Air Force Day celebration, fighter aircraft model making competition was organized. Cadets prepared the models of various fighter aircrafts by using materials like clay, cotton, mud, cardboard, wires, paper and others.
In category of class VI to VIII, Cadet Anshu Kumar and Cadet Md Sahil secured first and second position respectively while third position shared by two Cadets- Kaushik Das and Anjo Palmattam. Whereas in another category of class IX to XII, Cadet Neel Patel, Cadet Shivam Singh and Cadet Jil Kumar secured first, second and third position respectively. While special prize was announced for the Cadet Atharva Shah of class IX for making aircraft model from Carrot.
Speaking on the occasion, Group Captain Ravinder Singh, Principal, Sainik School Balachadi wished and conveyed his heartiest congratulations to everyone. During his speech, the Chief Guest highlighted the origin and significance of Indian Air Force and informed about various aircrafts. He motivated cadets to join defence services and serve the nation..
