The police caught them from Chandigarh Kochiveli express from Vadodara station. However their third associate managed to escape as he was travelling in another compartment.

As per the details the police has the information about the Charas being brought to Gujarat from J&K and they kept a watch on specially trains coming from there. On Friday they get the information about the two persons started from J&K with Charas and about to deliver it in Saurashtra.

The team kept a watch on prior information and caught the two persons on suspicion when they get down from Chandigarh Kochiveli express. The police checked their bags and found 11. 965kg Charas, mobile phones and currency from them. The International market rate of the Charas is around 27lakhs which the police seized from the two. “For the last two months we had the information about Charas being delivered in Gujarat from Jammu and Kashmir. On Friday we recieved a perfect tip about two persons started from Jammu with the product. The two came Ambala by road from there and then board Chandigarh Kochiveli express from there and was about to deliver it somewhere in Saurashtra. After the train reached Vadodara our team caught Vinit Verma 20 and Mahesh Vishwakarma 28 both from UP with the Charas kept inside the bags. From here they are supposed to reach Saurashtra by road and deliver the package there to someone named Shankar in Rajkot. However their third associate managed to escape and he was travelling in another compartment,” said Sharad Singhal SP Western Railway Vadodara. The police said that this is for the fourth time they entered Gujarat and before that they already came thrice in the state and deliver big consignments here. “The accused already came earlier in Gujarat and deliver narcotics here. This time they were caught and the two are working as carriers of the consignment. We took the help of the NCB to nab the others associates who came inside the state with Charas. The estimate amount of the Charas was worth around 27 laths in International market. Now we need to investigate further about the network, the main person and whom to deliver in Gujarat. The Charas is in round shape which comes from Kashmir while the chocolate and bar shaped comes from Himachal,” said Singhal.

Now the police is also investigating about the source from where the Charas came inside Kashmir and stretch their search towards other areas also.
