330 children covered in six days
Vadodara city and district health department starts the Rotavirus vaccination drive as a precautionary measure for the children. Every year thousands of children died due to the deadly virus and vaccination is the best way to save them. Around 330 children was given the vaccine in last six days by the health officials.
Rotaviruses are the most common cause of diarrhoeal disease among infants and young children.
District health Officer Dr. Uday Tilawat said syringes are used to give the vaccine through mouths of the children free of cost. However the private hospital charge 1500 rupees for the Rotavirus vaccine.
Vaccination drive starts from 1st July in 8 talukas and 242 centers of the district and in the last six days 330 children are covered by the teams.
