After a 1-2 defeat to the Netherlands, India lost the match

Indian men’s hockey entered into quarter-finals for the first time since 1980 Moscow Games, even after a 1-2 defeat to the world No 2, Netherlands, at the Rio Olympics 2016 on Thursday, 11 August.

After the completion of round four, Indian Hockey Team is at the third spot in the standings with six points, four points behind leaders the Netherlands and Germany and a point of ahead of team Argentina.

India’s defensive line was exceptional in first half. India missed five penalty corner chances to draw level with the Dutch. Goalkeeper PR Sreejesh saved several attempted shots and kept the defenders in pressure.

Netherland scored 2 and India scored 1 goal in the game, there was a big chance for Indian to hit a goal in 5 penalty corners, but they fail to hit a goal.

However India lost the game but still hope is not finished, the team is in Quarterfinals and let’s see how the India Hockey team plays in all upcoming matches.
