Rickshaw driver injured in attack, died during treatment in SSG

Police changed the complaint to murder and investigating further

One week ago, an auto rickshaw driver attacked another auto rickshaw driver on the neck in an altercation over seating passengers. The seriously injured auto rickshaw driver died during treatment at Sayaji Hospital on Friday. Police now registered a case of murder against the accused and further investigating in the matter.

As per the available details, Hardik alias Lala Naja Bharwad living in Shivnagar Society on Ajwa Road and Sarfaraz Mayuddin Bacharwala living in Bahar colony drives auto rickshaw. A week ago, there was a quarrel between the two over seating passengers in their rickshaws. In the aftermath of this quarrel, both again fight near Ajwa Road Shree Hari township on Tuesday.

Hardik alias Lala Bharwad reached Ajwa Road Shree Hari Township with his rickshaw. Sarfaraz Bacharwala was also present at the time. Meanwhile a fierce brawl broke out between the two, in which Sarfaraz pulled a knife from his pocket and injured Hardik alias Lala on the throat. He then fled from there in his auto rickshaw.

Meanwhile, friends of Hardik came to know about the incident and reached the spot. They took him to SSG hospital in serious condition where he died during treatment on Friday.

Earlier Naja Bharwad, the father of the injured, registered the incident at the Bapod police station. Based on the complaint, the attacker Sarfaraz has been booked for attempted murder. Now after his death the report changed into murder and police is further investigating in the case.
