This year Kathak Darshan pays tribute to the CRPF martyrs of Pulwama with special performance dedicated to them. The artists will perform some items specially for the martyrs and pay their respects to the jawans.

This year Kathak Darshan Charitable Trust organises 17th annual Pandit Sundarlal Gangani International Kathak Mahotsav in Vadodara to pay tribute to legendary Guru by whom the flame of Kathak was lighted in 1951 since when he started teaching Kathak dance in Department of Dance at Faculty of Performing Arts. Nationally and lntemationally acclaimed artistes are invited to perform in this festival.

The two day programme will be dedicated to the CRPF martyrs of Pulwama where the artists give tribute to the jawans in form of arts. Padanyas and Maand (Rajasthan) will totally dedicated to the soldiers where the artists perform and showcase the glimpses of patriotism to pay their respects to the martyrs. Posters and flags will also on display to complete the presentations by the maestros and their students. Apart from the two three programmes every performance have some glimpse of the tribute to jawans.

This year eminent artists from India and other countries will perform in the two days festival of Kathak along with the students from first to senior masters. The international artists going to perform in the event are Pandit Charan Girdhar Chaand (Singapore), Prachi Dixlt (USA), Rajendra Gangani (New Delhi) and renowned tabla artist Pandit Arvind Azad from Pune. The festival will also showcase the performances by locally acclaimed artists like Dr. Preeti Sathe Damle and Durgesh Gangani.

The entire program is choreographed, directed and conducted by renowned Kathak Guru Dr. Pandit Jagdish Gangani scheduled on 24 and 25th February 2019 at C.C.Mehta Auditorium in Vadodara.
