Refresher course for Pharmacists at Ramanbhai Patel College of Pharmacy, CHARUSAT

Ramanbhai Patel College of Pharmacy, CHARUSAT organised a two day refresher course for the registered pharmacists on November 4th-5th, 2017 under the patronage of Gujarat State Pharmacy Council (GSPC). It is a mandate for the registered pharmacists to attend two days refresher course in order to get a renewal of the licence issued by the State Pharmacy Council.
More than sixty participants from the industry, academia, community and hospital pharmacy attended the refresher course to review, reinforce and upgrade their knowledge and skills. Gilbert C. Macwan, Registrar, GSPC, Ahmedabad and chief guest of inaugural function motivated the participating pharmacists on the importance of refresher course and briefed them about the benefits of the newly launched online application facilities on the GSPC website.
Kalpesh Raval and Mitesh Pandya, nodal officer of Prandhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojna explained the procedures involved in the establishment of the jan aushadhi store. There were 08 sessions based on relevant pharmacy aspects like Jan Aushadhi Yojana, Digitalization in Retail Medical Store, Rational Use of Drugs, Prescription handling, Good Storage Practice, Patient Counselling on Anti-Tubercular Drugs, Self-medication and its demerits and Pharmacy Profession in India and in advanced countries.
All the speakers responded to the queries of the participants and the speakers were felicitated with a memento. The function was concluded with a written objective test given by the registered pharmacists.
