A rare Python gives motherly love to four puppies

When we think about a Python the picture comes to our mind about a reptile preys on small animals and birds. However a rare case of Python giving motherly love to four puppies came to light when the team to wildlife activists from Vadodara rescued them from a well.

The city based wild activists recieved a rescue call from Kandari village near Karjan about puppies fell inside a well. They all rushed to the spot to find a six foot Python protecting the four puppies like a mother. The amazing thing was that they all were inside the well for the last four days.

“As we all are attending the injured birds during Uttarayan we recieved the rescue call and we the team of Anil Gohil, Mayank Salunke and Ketan Raval reached Kandari village. We are informed that four puppies fell inside a well along with a snake. We reached and found that its a rock Python and we saw a unique thing in front of our eyes. The puppies are cozying and Python was protecting them giving motherly love to them,” said Neha Patel wildlife activist in Vadodara.

The well is very narrow and one person can reach the bottom. So one of the activist Ketan Raval went inside and first rescued the Python and then the puppies one by one. “The space to get inside the well is very narrow and it’s around 70 to 80 foot deep. Rock Python is non poisonous and can injure animals and humans with its bite. But here the Python and puppies developed a unusual relation where the reptile known for swallowing it’s prey give motherly love to puppies.
