Noted Indian yoga guru Swami Ramdev arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday on a week-long visit during which he will inaugurate a Patanjali Ayurved products manufacturing unit in Bara in southern Nepal.

He is accompanied by his aide Acharya Balkrishan and others.

The manufacturing unit, which will produce various Patanjali Ayurved products, has been established by noted Nepali businessman Upendra Mahato at an estimated cost of NRs 1 billion.

Upon reaching Nepal, Ramdev tweeted: “Reached Nepal, the pictorial land of Mata Sita and Gautam Buddha, for the yoga camp.”

He is also scheduled to conduct a five-day yoga camp in Birgunj. President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba, Ministers, leaders and members of the business community have been invited to the camp.

Over 10,000 yoga trainers from Nepal and India have assembled in Birgunj — a Nepali city sharing the international border with India — and the border city has been gaily decorated for the occasion.

Later in the day, Swami Ramdev interacted with local business leaders in Birgunj.

Ramdev, who has created a business empire through various ayurveda products, has established a large number of outlets in Nepal that sell Patanjali products which are very popular in Nepal.

Apart from these engagements, he is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, several ministers and members of the Nepali business community during his stay here.

He will also visit some districts of Nepal and explore business opportunities there, according to his aides.
