The Supreme Court will begin the important hearing from today (Thursday) on several petitions related to the politically sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land-ownership dispute case. A three-member Bench headed by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra will start the hearing from 2 pm on this case. Prior to the hearing, Babar Masjid's advocate Iqbal Ansari has said that there is no possibility of reconciliation.

The hearing in the Supreme Court is very important, because a special bench chaired by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra had dismissed Sunni Waqf Board and others' plea that the petitions should be heard after the next general elections. The bench had clarified on December 5 last year that he would start the final hearing on February 8 from these petitions and asked the parties to hand over related legal papers in this regard.
