Protest against privatization of railways and charging hefty money from the passengers.

Western Railway Mazdoor Sangh and Western Railway Employees Union, Vadodara division raised their protest against the running of Tejas express between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. They protest against the privatisation of railways and charging hefty money from the passengers. Around 15 to 20 persons are detained by the police from both the unions.

The unions are protesting against the trains to run by private contractors which is a loss to the people. To run a train people from 534 categories from the railways are needed to make it possible. However the government decision to give the rights to run Tejas train to private contractor is a step towards privatisation. People also have to pay extra charges for their journey which is not beneficial for them.

The unions raised their protest before the arrival of Tejas train and shouted slogans against the government. Police later detained the protesters from the spot.
