The Railway Hospital Pratapnagar join hands with VMC in combating Covid 19 in Vadodara. The hospital presently has 50 beds and will be increased if the need arises. The hospital will continue to cater its services to Railway beneficiaries as in the past, with some modifications. The concern is to protect Railway beneficiaries from avoidable exposure to Covid is addressed by these modifications.

These steps will bring the health services closer to patients and it ensured that Non-covid patients will not be subjected to exposure to Covid. The OPD services will be continued in Health Units at Vadodara Yard and Vadodara Station with appropriate augmentation of Doctors, Paramedical staff and stock of medicines. Tie-up arrangement withTricolor Hospital for investigations is already available. So, patients who reside in these areas need not come all the way to Division Railway Hospital.

Telephonic consultation will all specialists will also be provided as and when required. Patient satisfaction and comprehensive care is top priority.

Emergency surgeries will be carried out at Divisional Railway Hospital as in the past. Elective surgery will be carried out after evaluating all the parameters, including the risk to the patient, Health care staff. Medical department is ensuring that no patient gets infected and at the same time staff is to be protected from all the risks. The Railway beneficiaries are requested to avail these modified augmented facilities and avoid unnecessary exposure to Covid.

The practice of hand hygiene and social distancing continues to play a key role in preventing Covid. All Railway beneficiaries are requested to follow these important practices and this contribution will go a long way in containment of Covid.
