India will watch the story of real heroes of Independence movement - the soldiers of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army (Azaad Hind Fauj).

Raag Desh - another masterpiece by Tigmanshu Dhulia after Pan Singh Tomar and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. Watch how the soldiers left their cushy lives and fought the Britishers for liberating Mother India. Watch how Netaji Bose created an Army without a nation, that took on the British Army based on sheer bravery. Watch their tribulations after the defeat and how the trial unfolded at the Historic Red Fort.

Raag Desh takes you to a most important but yet unfilmed chapter of the freedom struggle where Britishers tried to suppress Indian freedom movement but tasted defeat at the end in their own courts ..!! Presented by Rajya Sabha TV and produced by Gurdeep Singh Sappal - the film is based on real events that led to the historic Lal Quila Trial of INA.

The film has awe inspiring cinematography from Ace cinematographer Rishi Punjabi that will take you back into 1946 and songs that will rekindle the spirit of nationalism in all.

The story is told through a series of flashbacks and the trial of three young soldiers (Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Mohit Marwah) of the INA, charged with murder and treason, whose case is fought by the celebrated lawyer Bhulabhai Desai (Kenny Desai). Through the eyes of the three soldiers a Hindu, a Sikh, and a Muslim–we see how a remarkable ‘army’ was born, and how ‘desh ki azaadi’ was also its motto, even if its ways were so antithetical to Mahatma Gandhi ‘s nonviolent struggle.

Raag Desh has lofty ambition, but the stagey treatment lets it down. The definitive INA film is still to be made.
