Patient on ventilator recovered and discharged from Covid hospital

Saturday is the special day for the doctors and staff of special Covid Hospital at Gotri as their hard work had paid off. A patient Arvinbhai Patni under ventilator care was discharged from the hospital which brings joy on their faces. His treatment was a challenge for them.

Till date about 23 patients have recovered from the treatment here so far and on Saturday four others were discharged which includes Arvindbhai Patni. There was a challenge to heal Arvindbhai and the doctors won the battle to save his life with their knowledge, skills and devotion. Arvindbhai was admitted on April 10 and after three weeks of intensive care, he came out of the hospital today with a smile on his face as the doctors gave him a new lease of life.

Dr. Suketu, a doctor in the medicine department of Sayaji Hospital and currently working at Gotri happily said, rescuing a Corona patient under ventilator is a very difficult task and it’s a matter of pride for them that Arvindbhai has recovered. They learned that if you work sincerely with passion, the patient can be cured by getting out on the ventilator. It is a great victory for them as a patient on ventilator go home after recovery.

Dr. Ankita, of the anesthesia department at Sayaji Hospital and currently working at the Covid treatment facility, said that the biggest challenge for them in this case was to gradually bring intensive care from the ventilator to the room air. They checked the reports daily and setting up a ventilator accordingly was a daunting task. They are able to do that and glad to save the patient.

Both the doctors said that the unit head Dr. Chirag Rathore and the anesthesia nodal Dr. Nita Bose believed in their strengths and allowed them to treat the patient independently comes out as success. They taught a lot and trusted them.

Since Arvindbhai was very attached to his daughter who lives in Ahmedabad, the doctors helped him to talk with her daily through WhatsApp and this gives him the strength. A high protein diet was also arranged for him from home every day.

Apart from him, Ashok Patni, Nilofar Pathan and Mayabahen Sharma were discharged today. Three patients were from Nagarwada and one from Sama. Thus, a total of 29 patients including 25 from ITI Ajwa road was discharged from the hospital after recovered from the disease. Till date total 142 patients recovered and discharged from the hospital.

As far as positive patients are concerned, with 26 new cases the total number of patients reaches 350 on Saturday. No death reported in last 24 hours.
