Retired armed forces personnel raised objection and protest in the employment camp organised by the Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL) in Vadodara. They protest against the rules decided for them and the youth from the Raksha Shakti University for the camp. The organisers later cancel the programme till further notice.

MGVCL conduct a employment camp for the post of security watchmen and for that they invite applications from retired armed forces personnel and youths from Ahmedabad based Raksha Shakti university. The camp was organised at MSU ground on Wednesday to fill the posts.

Around 500 candidates reached the ground early morning for the selection process. MGVCL decides rules regarding height, chest, weight, running, long jump for the candidates but the retired defence personnel raised objection against it. They demand ease of rules for them as they can’t match the youths at this age.

They said they already be in service for many years and came from retirement for the selection process. At this age they can’t match the youths in physical strength and other medical parameters. They demand for ease in rules for them in the selection process and also put allegations about not getting any facilities there.

The retired defence personnel also said that one of the jawan got injured in the selection process but the organisers don’t arrange any primary treatment for him. After the allegations and protest by the retired defence personnel the organisers cancel the selection camp till further notice.
