People protest against encroachment in Vadodara


Vadodara Municipal Commissioner faced the ire of the people when the VMSS team reached the Race Course area to demolish their temporary houses built on the VMSS land. The team reached the spot to demolish the houses in the presence of Municipal Commissioner but the people raised their protest very aggressively. Such was the protest that the Municipal Commissioner was forced to left from the spot and the residents followed the car of him.

After Vadodara city entered in the list of smart city project the VMSS is running the campaign to widen the roads inside the city and for that they are demolishing the structures coming in the way. The team is presently working in the race course area and they removed many old running larris and cabins from various areas of Race course and opened the roads.

Apart from that the VMSS team is also removing the structures built on their land. On Saturday the team reached near Race course circle to remove the houses built on around 15000 Square foot area belongs to the VMSS. There was about six families built houses on the same land and living for years in there. of

The VMSS give notice to the families living there to vacant the space but they didn’t moved from there. On Saturday afternoon the encroachment team reached the spot with JCB and staff to remove the illegal structures. Municipal Commissioner Vinod Rao also reached the spot to look after the proceedings.

However before the team starts the residents living there protest aggressively against the demolition. The residents said that exams of their children are going on and they requested the team to stop. But the team denied and the residents aggressively protest against it.

Meanwhile the locals approached the Municipal commissioner but he denied to listen which angered the people. Sensing the situation Vinod Rao left the spot in his vehicle and the people followed him running behind. Inspite of the protest the VMSS team removed the encroachment from there.
