Prisoner under treatment at Covid centre in Vadodara escaped early morning on Tuesday

A prisoner serving a sentence in the Vadodara Central Jail for attempted murder and an offence under the Arms Act, escaped early this morning from the Lalbaug guest house Covid Center.

The fugitive prisoner was sentenced by a Nadiad court to seven years of jail term. It is to be noted that an 80-bed Covid center has been set up at the Lalbagh Atithi Gruh after Corona cases are coming out from the Central Jail.

Dinesh alias Chhotu Yadav, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was sentenced by a Nadiad court to seven years for attempted murder and the Arms Act.  He was then transferred to Vadodara Central Jail in March 2020. Dinesh report was also admitted to the second floor of the Covid Center for inmates at Lalbagh Guest House.

Tight police security has been set up at the Covid Center set up at the Lalbagh Guest House for the inmates of Vadodara Central Jail down with Coronavirus. Despite the tight security prisoner Dinesh Yadav broke the iron window of the center at around 4 am and escaped through the darkness by get down with the help of a bed sheet.

Early in the morning, police personnel on duty at the Covid Center were get to know about the prisoner Dinesh Yadav had escaped and they immediately reported the incident to the Central Jail authorities.

The incident was also reported to the Makarpura police and they along with jail authorities reached the center. Makarpura police had registered a case against fugitive prisoner Dinesh Yadav. A Crime Branch team was also investigate and search for the escaped prisoner.

Earlier notorious Ajju Kaniyo who was tested positive fled from Wadi police station and the notorious bootlegger Jivo Rajput from Sayajiganj area also fled while undergoing treatment at Sayaji Hospital.  So far both of them are at large and now another prisoner fled from the Covid centre which gives police another challenge to nab a criminal.
