Indian President Pranab Mukherjee ‘s convoy fell into a gorge
An escort car for President Pranab Mukherjee fell into a gorge in Darjeeling hills on Friday 15th July 2016. Mamta Banerjee was also accompanying President Pranab Mukherjee when the incident took place. State governor Kesarinath Tripathi was also in the convoy.
The incident took place when the driver lost control after the vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Sonada, around 17 km from Darjeeling town.

After the rescue mission got over, a tweet on the President's Twitter account said everyone, including the President, are safe.
