Praveen Chandra Sinha joined as IG-cum-PCSC of Western Railway on 1st July, 2020

Praveen Chandra Sinha joined as Inspector General (IG) of Railway Protection Force (RPF) cum Principal Chief Security Commissioner (PCSC) of Western Railway on 1st July, 2020. He is a senior officer of 1991 Batch of Civil Services.

He has a B.Tech. degree from the prestigious institution of IIT Kanpur alongwith MBA & LLB. Previously Sinha has worked in various different capacities over the Indian Railways including North East Frontier Railway, North East Railway, East Central Railway, Eastern Railway, South Central Railway, Southern Railway, North Central Railway, Central Railway, Railway Board, DIG Project – CSTM alongwith Western Railway & Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd. (MRVCL).

He has also served in the United Nations Peace Keeping Force in Kosovo from 2005 to 2006. During his service, he has been awarded with Indian Police Medal, UN Medals, Minister of Railways prestigious National Award, DG Insignia, GM Medals and numerous cash awards in his elaborate career serving different roles.
