The central government make all toll plaza in the country free for the vehicles till 24th November where every vehicle can pass without any hassle. But on Saturday at Golden cross roads on Vadodara Halol road the vehicle owners agitate after the toll plaza staff was collecting tax. However before the situation get out of control the toll plaza staff stopped collecting the tax from the vehicle owners.

From Saturday morning the the toll plaza staff near Golden cross roads started collecting tax from the commuters overstepping the government decision for not collecting toll tax till 24th November.

As the staff was collecting tax the commuters raised objection against it and soon there was shouting and long ques of vehicles were seen due to the problem. Meanwhile Vadodara Transport Association President Sanjay Chaudhary reached the spot with his members and request the toll plaza staff to stop collecting tax but they turned down their request and continue. Meanwhile the situation was getting bad and before it get out of the hands police reached the spot and control the situation.

“As the government decides not to collect toll tax till 24th November the toll plaza staff was collecting tax from the commuters. We will complaint to the higher authorities about the thing,” said Chaudhary.

One of the vehicle owners said the toll plaza staff are collecting the tax illegaly and threatening us if we refused to pay.
