    On the occasion of BSF Raising Day Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted Border Security Force personnel and their families on BSF’s Raising Day.

    In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, the force has been diligently protecting country’s borders. He said, during natural disasters and crisis situations, BSF personnel have always worked hard to serve its citizens.

    BSF established on December 1, 1965, is a paramilitary force charged with guarding India’s land border during peacetime and preventing transnational crime. It is under the administrative control of Ministry of Home Affairs. It currently stands as the world’s largest border guarding force.
