More than 25 physiotherapists in Corona ward and ICU do exercise yoga and laughing therapy twice a day
Wishes comes as a blessing for everyone and for the Covid patients under treatment at SSG its works like a medicine. Physiotherapy is one such initiative which gives such patients a new lease of life, increase their self confidence and help them recover from such life threatening disease.
At Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara, an average of 300 patients are treated in Covid wards consists of isolation and ICU. As an additional treatment, under the guidance of Dr. Vinod Rao, Officer on Special Duty and Education Secretary, Administrator Ashok Patel and Advisor Dr. Minu Patel has started physiotherapy sessions for these patients to help them recover from their mental as well as physical illness.
Dr. A.O. Belim coordinating this system said, for physiotherapeutic treatment they have coordinated with the Physiotherapy college. Under the leadership of senior physiotherapist and assistant professor Dr. Chetna Seju, more than 25 physiotherapist comes and done yoga, Laughing therapy, walking exercises with the patients.
As a result, patients do not feel lonely and doing the exercise keep their distance from each other. Corona is a disease that puts you away from relatives and friends, in isolation and in such cases physiotherapy joined the patients with each other and also alleviates their loneliness.
The major problem for Covid’s patient is shortness of breath, irregularly of breath and yoga and lung exercises ease the situation. Chandubhai Patel, a 74-year-old corona patient says, due to the breathing exercises he felt a lot of relief in shortness of breath. Now he has no difficulty in breathing. He suffer from co-morbidities like BP and diabetes and with physiotherapy the effectiveness of treatment has increased.
