After the reports of water level receding in Narmada dam Vadodara city is also staring at possible water shortage in coming days. In such a situation a news from the city where people forced to drink water from a stinking pond shaken everyone.

Yes it’s true as the residents of Priyanka Nagar area near Waghodia crossroads forced to drink water from a stinking pond for the last two decades. The area is built under ULC scheme but the corporation is yet to give water connections to them.

With no options left the 2000 odd residents are forced to drink water from a nearby filthy and stinking pond. What is more alarming is that human and animal both use the same pond for their thirst.

If that’s not all the local builders indulged in water theft and use the pond for their nearby sights. One can clearly see the pipes sink inside the pond connected to the sites for water. With this in mind the locals are now worrying about their only source of water being dried down.

When we are talking about digital India such a picture of the society forced us to think about the administration which failed to provide basic facilities to the residents of Priyanka Nagar for the last two decades.

PM Narendra Modi is getting worldwide accolades for his Gujarat model but in his own election area the residents are not getting fresh water to drink is something quite noticeable.
