Every person has a passion in life and they spend their whole lives to fulfill it. Some has the passion for collecting antiques, some collecting stamps and many more. But have you ever thought that a person can think of turning his whole house to kept his prized possessions.
When we enter someone's house we often see small gardens, flower plots and other decorative items. But for 24 year old Romi Chauhan all the available space outside his house is reserved for his super bikes. If You entered the gate and you will be surprised to see his collection of bikes staring at you and invite to have a look at them.
At this age Romi has a collection of seven super bikes inside his house along with the vintage collection of motorcycles and scooter. Carrying forward the family legacy of passion for bikes, Romi spend his money to get his super bikes and hungry for more. He said that if possible he can turn his house into a two floor parking for his bikes.
"Since I was 8 years old I started getting passionate for bikes after I visit Mr. Sunil Nigam a bike racer and enthusiast and a friend of my father. I done odd things there like tightened the screws and other settings. I have a Ducati poster inside my room and have a dream to own one. I have the collection of super bikes at my home and the whole outside area is filled with them. If my parents allowed I can change the whole house into a two floor parking for my bikes," said Romi.
Romi is a automobile engineer and also opened a showroom of super bikes in Vadodara. He also has with him the only company customised Harley Davidson bike in India with him. Although he has the collection of super bikes with him but he aims to own more including two of his dream bikes. Romi has Aquila Pro 650cc (7.35 lakhs), TNT Banelli 600cc (8 lakhs), Comet 250cc (3.74 lakhs), Harley Street 750 (customized bike) 8.50 lakhs, Harley Street 750 (5.75 lakhs), Iron 883 cc (10.30 lakhs), All Terrain Vehicle 250cc (7 lakhs) and many antique ones like Yezdi and original Lambretta scooter.
"Since childhood I always have the passion to have every superbike with me and I purchased them without thinking about the price. Although I have my favorite bikes at my place and still my goal is to purchase my dream bikes. My goal is to purchase Ducati 959 worth around 22 lakhs and X Diabel worth around 30 lakhs," said Romi.
Romi said that his aim in life to have biggest customized bike showroom in India and will purchase every bike if his parents allowed him to. He has costly superbikes with him but he still get emotional about the first bike he purchased from his pocket money.
"My first bike was Yezdi which I purchased for 3000 rupees using the money which I collect in my piggy bank and borrow money from my friends. The bike is very dear to me as I initially cried in front of the owner after I still need 300 rupees to purchase it. I told him if I don't arrange the money then I never purchase it but I managed later on. Every Sunday I ride on my first bike at the age of 15 and people appreciate me by passing on the comments as the Yezdi Rider. The bike is always dear to me and I still have it with me," said Romi.
Romi also has the original Lambretta scooter with him which he kept as it is condition as rent it out to production houses. "The Lambretta 150 scooter is a prized possession for me as I purchased it for 52,000 a year ago and maintained it in its original form. Every part in the scooter is original and i rent out the Lambretta to the production houses. The scooter is used in a hindi film Waaris, a Gujarati untitled movie and recently in 'Love You Yaar' a Gujarati movie," said Romi.
Although he has various passions but at this age he runs a business of renting cars like Limousines and others in wedding and family functions. He wish to spread his business in India and wants to be numero uno in this. Right now he covers Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
