Rear Admiral RJ Nadkarni VSM, Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command reviewed the Passing Out Parade (POP) of O-168 Electrical Specialization Course at INS Valsura on 13 Apr Friday.

The POP marked the culmination of 95 weeks of professional training in Electrical specialization for a total of 39 Officers, comprising 25 Officers of Indian Navy, 04 Officers of Indian Coast Guard and 10 Officers from friendly International Navies. A Guard of Honour was presented to the Chief Guest in an immaculate ceremonial parade which was also witnessed by parents of the passing out course.

The Admiral complimented the men for their excellent drill during the parade and congratulated the Officers of the passing out course on this significant milestone in their careers. He highlighted that training at INS Valsura has kept pace with rapid development in the field of technology, to prepare the personnel for the challenges they will encounter onboard ships.

The Chief Guest awarded officers for excelling in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities. The coveted Chief of Naval Staff trophy and Admiral Ramnath Trophy for ‘Best All-round Officer’ was awarded to Sub Lieutenant Rahul Pandey.

The “Commander AR Khandekar Rolling Trophy” for first in overall order of merit was awarded to Sub Lieutenant Kewal Krishnan. The Chief of Naval Staff Rolling Trophy for first in Fleet Competency Board was also awarded to Sub Lieutenant Kewal Krishnan.

DNRD Rolling trophy for the Best Project was given to Lieutenant DMTPB Senavirathna, Lieutenant NDCS Pushpakumara & Lieutenant EMMPB Ekanayake. Assistant Commandant Vignesh Prabhu of Indian Coast Guard was awarded DGCG ‘Best All-Round Officer’ Rolling Trophy.
