Parents and hospital fight over handover a body of child

Refusing to handover the dead body of a five year old boy the parents shouted slogans against the hospital as the situation gets out of the situation. The tribal parents lost their only child and when the hospital administration refused to hand over the body to them the couple and their relatives lost control and they shouted slogans against the administration.

Ranjit Nayak 30 from Kalsar village in Panchmahal district said that he along with his wife and son came to Vadodara for work and working in a construction site at Harni road and lives there. On 5^th April his wife was resting and his son was playing nearby. However while playing he falls down from the first floor on the ground and received injuries on head and leg. His wife immediately took their son to a private hospital nearby where he was taken to VINS hospital at R.C. Dutt road.His father said that after the news of his son injured the contractor also came to the hospital and deposited 65 thousand as told by the hospital. The staff then started the treatment of his son. However Ranjit Nayak put allegations on the hospital and said that the doctors told him that operation is not necessary and they will operate after two days. He said they also give their nod of the operation but the hospital not revealed the cost of the same. However his son died on Sunday and the hospital refused to handover the dead body to them. He alleged that the hospital asked for to deposit 80,000 rupees and then after take the body. The parents alleged that since Monday morning they were not allowed to take the body.Ranjit Nayak said that they observe a Mannat of offering at Babdev temple at Chelawada after his son get well. But his son died and they lost their only child. The sorrow to lost their child is very much for them but the attitude of the hospital increase their sorrow as they don’t handover the body to them. They said that they all sit outside the hospital waiting for the whole night for his son body.Hospital director Ajay Kapoor said that the contractor Das Patel take the responsibility of whole expenditure of the son of the tribal couple. He said they called him many times but he don’t replied and they informed the Gotri police about the matter. He said they also informed the Harni police on the day when the patient was admitted in the hospital. The contractor deposited 40,000 rupees cheque and we handover the dead body to the parents.Gotri police station IO said that the issue was of the treatment bill and the matter was solved and the dead body was handover to the family. The body was handover to them after the post-mortem and they have registered accidental death case in the matter.
