Parents blamed SSG for newborn swapping, lodged FIR

A case of newborn swapping came to light in SSG hospital in Vadodara where the parents claimed to give birth to a boy but allege that the staff later told them that it’s a girl. However the parents refused to accept the girl and register a police complaint in Raopura police station.

The mother of the new born son gives 100 rupees to the lady who informed her about the new born baby but the happiness soon turned into sadness as the mother was informed that she gave birth to a baby girl the very next day. After the news the parents agitated aggressively and demand DNA test of the babies and also register police complaint against the hospital administration.

Jignesh Dave the father is residing in A-27 Jai Yogeshwar Society at Ajwa road accused the hospital staff of changing the babies. He also showed the pictures of both the babies and question the staff of the hospital. Jignesh took his pregnant wife Kunjan Dave to Jamnabai hospital on 23rd November after she start vomiting where blood was also coming out. As she was 8 months pregnant the doctors referred her to the SSG hospital.

Kunjan was immediately admitted in SSG hospital maternity ward where she delivered a baby boy on 23rd night 8.30pm. After the birth one lady came out and give news to their relatives.

The parents and relatives were happy after the news and give 100 rupees to the lady fir giving them the news. The father and other relatives also rushed to the hospital after the news.

However the doctors asked Kunjan Dave to be there at the hospital due to Dengue and she was admitted in the ward and the baby was kept in the infant room. And the doctors also informed the staff not to feed mother milk to the infant.

However on 24th the family visit to see the baby at hospital but the staff give them baby girl which shocked them. The family immediately agitate and alleged that the lady changed the baby.

On Saturday the family along with the father of the baby came to Raopura police station and register a police complaint against the hospital administration. The father of the boy refused to accept the baby girl and demand asked for justice.

“I clicked the picture if my baby when he was born and now the very next day the hospital staff handover a baby girl to me. How can I accept another baby instead of my own baby. I want my own baby and refuse to accept the baby girl,” said Jignesh Dave.

However the hospital administration refused the allegations put by the family and said that on 23rd there was two deliveries in the hospital at night and both of them are girls.
