Paid leave for workers and employees to exercise their voting rights in Karjan Assembly by election

Gujarat will hold by-elections for the Gujarat Assembly constituency on November 3. State’s director of labour mentioned that paid leave must be given so that workers / employees can exercise their voting rights during this election.

On 3rd November Tuesday, by-election will be held on 147 -Karjan seat of Gujarat Assembly constituency. Then a special leave will have to be sanctioned for the workers / employees of the organizations registered under the Gujarat Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act-2016 in the area to exercise their voting rights.

There will be no deduction from the employee’s salary. Director of Labor further states that any employer who behaves contrary to the provision will be liable to penalty and punishment.
