Mother of deceased alleged that daughter-in-law had threatened many times to kill her son
Padra police registered a murder case against the wife for killing her husband at Umraya village of Padra taluka. The deceased was the son of a former female member of the Padra municipality and the mother alleged that daughter-in-law had threatened many times to kill her son.
Rajeshbhai Mali, son of Narmada Kanjibhai Mali, a former member of Padra Municipality, lives in Tekrawala falia in Umraya village of Padra taluka. Working as a watchman he was married to a young woman named Puniben. After marriage, Rajesh and his wife are living alone with their five-year-old son in the Gujarat Housing Board building. The couple are engaged in frequent quarrels and on 3rd August both once again had fight on some matter. As per the police the wife hit him with a blunt object which fratured the ribs and ruptured the lungs.
After the death of her husband Rajesh, Puniben informed the Padra police that her husband had died of suffocation. The police took possession of the body and sent it for postmortem. However, Rajesh Mali's mother Narmadaben Mali alleged that her son was killed by his wife and demanded a panel postmortem. A panel doctor's post-mortem conducted by the Padra police revealed that Rajesh had been beaten to death. Padra police have registered a case of murder against wife Puniben Mali in connection with her husband's murder.
Regarding the murder of her only son Rajesh, mother Narmadaben Mali said, "On Saturday, her son Rajesh called and said to be coming to Rakshabandhan on Sunday and asked to keep the sisters at home. But instead his body comes to her house. She accused Puniben for killing her son as she used to threaten her from time to time.
P.I. of Padra police station S.A. Kurmure said, on August 3, Puniben Mali called and told that her husband Rajesh had died due to suffocation. Police took possession of the body and registered a case of accidental death. However, Narmadaben, the mother of the deceased raise the query about her son for not had a natural death and demanded an panel postmortem alleging that he had been murdered by his wife Puniben. In the postmortem report, it has come out that Rajesh was killed by beating and they has registered a case of murder against Puniben Mali and process in on to arrest her.
