Give indications to increase beds capacity and ventilators to accommodate patients
As Vadodara witness daily surge of cases, the administration is taking steps to increase the beds capacity and other facilities to treat patients. On Monday OSD Dr. Vinod Rao visited various hospitals in and around the city to review facilities and indicate to increase the bed capacities.
To start with Dr. Rao visited Pioneer Hospital and review the facility. About 250 beds COVID Hospital is functioning for free treatment and out of them only 65 beds are occupied and rest are vacant. 15 Ventilators were installed in addition to 15 already functional. He gives indication about increasing the Bed Capacity to 500 in next 3 days.
He then visited Dhiraj Hospital in Sumandeep University where 300 beds are functional for free treatment. Out of them about 175 beds are occupied and 125 beds are vacant. About 40 Ventilators are available of which about 20 are Vacant. He said, in the next 3-5 days they are increasing capacity to 1000 Beds with Oxygen, including 200 ICU beds and 100 Ventilators. They are also diverting 108 Ambulances from Rural Areas and other districts to Dhiraj and Pioneer Hospitals since Sunday.
Finally be visited Parul Hospital at Waghodia where the capacity for COVID treatment is increased from 150 to 300 Beds. They have opened up Parul Hospital for FREE TREATMENT. He said, 15 Ventilators are functional and out if which 10 are occupied and 5 vacant. Another 10 Ventilators will be installed on Monday night. The capacity of beds will be increased to total 500 in next 3-5 days with total 60 ICUs and 40 Ventilators.
District collector Shalini Agarwal and DDO Vadodara joined the visit to hospitals. DR. Rao added that Collector would coordinate and supervise the functioning of Hospitals in Rural areas for COVID treatment.
