Review the facilities and plan upgradation inside the building and wards

With the spike in Corona cases, Vadodara administration is taking measures to increase facilities in the dedicated hospitals. Officer on Special Duty Dr. Vinod Rao on Monday visited all the three hospitals to review the facilities and plan the upgradation inside the building and wards.

To start with Dr. Rao had detailed meeting with all concerned officials at GMERS Hospital Gotri along with Municipal Commissioner, MoH and CEO Vuda. After the meeting it is decided to start a 120 Beds facility on 4th Floor of Main Building from this week.

Secondly he visited SSG Hospital along with Municipal Commissioner Nalin Upadhyay and had meeting with Medical Superintendent and Heads of various Branches. He inspected the Emergency Ward Building and it is decided to develop the entire building into Dedicated COVID Hospital with 500 Beds including 100 Bed ICU and 40 Ventilator Beds. Other Wards will be temporarily shifted out of this building to prevent cross infection.

Dr Rao said, We intend to get the 500 Bed Dedicated COVID Hospital at SSG Hospital premises ready by 1st of July. ICU section in Emergency Ward Building in SSG Hospital to be upgraded and made fully operational in next two weeks.

He also visited Divisional Railway Hospital at Pratapnagar and had meeting with DRM and senior officials of Railways. “50 Bed COVID Section at Divisional Railway Hospital will have 20 Bed ICU including 4 Ventilators, 4 BIPAPs and specialist doctors for critical care. It is ready from today,” informed Dr. Rao.
