Officer on Special Duty and Education Secretary Dr. Vinod Rao on Thursday evening reviewed the detailed planning and pre-preparedness done by Vadodara Municipal Corporation for Covid vaccination in Vadodara city. He said that earlier covid vaccination was being planned and managed in advance with the same precision as the overall management of covid.
He added, in Vadodara, under the leadership of the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, the team VMC has planning to have 205 vaccination centers in the city and has made a comprehensive and noble plan for Covid vaccination.
Dr. Rao further said that in the first round of vaccination, it is planned to vaccinate about 17,000 urban health care workers and then about 20,000 front line workers.
Approximately 3 lakh co-morbid or citizens over 50 years of age have been identified for vaccination in subsequent phases. Cold chain management has been undertaken for safe transportation and storage of vaccine quantities along with necessary training to vaccinators as well as personnel involved in vaccination work, added Dr. Rao.
