Around 5000 people took part in the run to spread the message of unity.
On National Unity Day Vadodara police organised a run for unity in the city flagged off by Gujarat Assembly speaker Rajendra Trivedi. Around 5000 people took part in the event and run to spread the message of unity.
31st October is celebrated as birth anniversary of Iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and as a part of celebrations run for unity was organise in every city. To spread the message of National security, unity, brotherhood among people and to aware the new generation about the Indian culture is the main aim to celebrate the day.
Vadodara also witness the event organised on the day where a flag march was organise with the pledge of National Unity. Police commissioner, collector and other top officials remain present there at the flag off event.
Later a marathon run was organised attended by nearly 5000 people consists of each police station, departments, headquarter, SRP group, railway, police officials and employees, traffic brigade, civil defence, home guard, organisations and general public.
The run started from Kamatibaug and moved through Kalaghoda circle, Baroda Automobile crossing, kothi road, kothi crossing, railway headquarters, jail road, Bhimnath Naka, Baroda Automobile, Kalaghoda circle, railway station road and reached Sardar Statue where it ends with the National Anthem. One Divyang kid complained of dizziness was helped by sector 6 vehicle and completed the run.
