Devotees attends the Ashtami Puja with great enthusiasm

Odia Samaj in Vadodara organise their first Durga Puja starting from this year. The Ashtami puja considered to be the important one is attended by devotees residing in and outside the city.

Durga puja also called Durgotsava, is an annual Hindu festival of goddess Durga. Particularly popular in West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Tripura, Bangladesh and also in Nepal. Observed in the Hindu calendar month of Ashvin it's a multi-day festival starting from the 6th day of Navratri.

Beautiful temple and stage decorations with durga idols inside set the perfect ambience of Durga Puja attended by devotees in big numbers.

This year Odia Samaj in Vadodara decides to organise their own Durga Puja and set up the decoration at Sardar Industrial Estate community hall. The Ashtami Puja is attended by families residing in and outside Vadodara to pay their respects to Maa Durga.

The organisers said this is the first year of Durga Puja and it will be a annual event every year. The aim is to gather Odia people residing here for years and to know each other. It's like to make a home away from the home state of Odisha.
