Northeast students studying in MSU Baroda gives a memorandum to the VC regarding ill treatment from the other groups of students residing inside the hostel. Holding placards and Indian National Flag they demand and request to stop Racism against Northeast students.

Few days ago Rajasthan and Manipuri groups clashed inside the hostel for some matter and that stretched further. On Thursday the Northeast students reached the VC office with placards and Indian National Flag to give a memorandum to the VC regarding discrimination towards them. They allege that the other students pass racist comments on them and also eve tease the girls which make them feel insecure in the university.

“The university is now insecure for them as they have to face the discrimination from other students. They pass on weird and racist comments on them and also involved in eve teasing the girls of Northeast. We came here with the National Flag to show that we are also the part of the same country and we also have the same rights like the others. Such discrimination is bad for them and they feel like alien in the university,” said Priyanand Sharma student leader.

They arrived at the MSU head office with placards and banners and gives a memorandum to the VC in this regard and demand justice for them. They said the culprits shall be booked under SC, ST and Atrocity act for passing on racist comments towards them. The demand equal rights for them just like everyone inside the University. MSU VC accepted their memorandum and assured of action against the students who create such environment inside the university.

“We already formed a committee to look after the conflict between the two groups and already issued guidelines to every student and concerned authorities. Every student in our university in our responsibility and we assure them that any student or outsider who tries to disrupt the peace inside will not be spared,” said VC Parimal Vyas.
