Collector Shalini Agrawal issued important advisory and appeal people to stay away from rumors

Vadodara district collector Shalini Agrawal informed that no positive case of Coronavirus reported in Vadodara and the administration is taking every step to take preventive measures as per government guidelines. She also appeal people not to listen to any rumors and just follow the guidelines of the government.

Giving details about the preventive measures taken by the district administration she said, 72 peoples are screened in the district and reports of everyone comes as negative. Out if them quarantine of 53 people are completed and remaining 19 people are under observation as per the standard health guidelines issued by the government.

Similarly 351 people are screened by VMSS health teams and seven samples were taken which comes as negative after checking. Under the instructions of VMC commissioner the health department teams and district health administration is taking strict steps to prevent COVID 19. SSG hospital is authorised as investigating agency for COVID 19 by the government.

As precautionary measure government and private hospitals are equipped with isolation wards, logistics and medical staff to attend patients having suspeceted symptoms. Doctors and para medical staff is given training and sensitise in view of the virus and take preventive measures while attending the patients. Spitting in public is declared as offence and action will be taken against such offenders.

From 16th April all educational institutions, schools, colleges, cinema halls, tution classes are closed for two weeks and action will be taken against people not following the advisory. District Collector also issues advisory to schools and educational institutes to strictly implement the government directives regarding Coronavirus. She also advise government and private hospitals to identify a flu corner and treat people suffering from fever, cough and cold.

She briefed that Masks and Sanitisers are now included in Essential Commodities Act by the government and issue advisory regarding its illegal stocking and charging access money from people. She also said that legal steps will be taken against such persons. She also added that till date action was taken against 18 such people and recovered 36000 as fine from them.

Shalini Agrawal said they issues advisory to hotels to maintain strict rules as per government notification. She request the companies, organisations not to organise seminars, workshops and gathering in view of the virus and also request people to avoid such big gatherings.

Two government hospitals SSG and Gotri are equipped with total 39 beds for the patients. Seven private hospitals namely Sterling, Bhailal Amin, Tricolor, Shukan, Savitaba and Banker hospitals are also equipped with 32 beds isolations wards. Private hospitals are advised to increase beds if necessary.

Finally Collector request people to maintain hygiene and wash their hands frequently with soap in regular intervals. Sanitiser can be used as a option in case of unavailability of soap. She request everyone to follow the guidelines issued by the government and not believe in rumors. She also briefed that modification is done in epidemic act and people involved in such activities will be punished as per law.
