Reliance Foundation chairman Nita Ambani became the First Indian woman member of the International Olympics Committee. She was elected at the 129th IOC session in Rio on 4 August.

The 52 year old Neeta Ambani is the third Indian member of the International Olympics Committee. The first two Indian members of IOC were Dorabji Tata and Raja Randhir Singh.

As per the rules of membership Nita Ambani will remain an International Olympics Member till the age of 70.
