One Nigerian named Mamdubueze Nonso Charles aged 38 was arrested by the NCB Ahmedabad team with 1.210kg Heroin worth around six crores in international market. He was arrested from inside Mumbai Rajdhani express at Baroda raIlway station on his way to Mumbai.
Based on the information the NCB team along with the railway police kept a watch and reached Baroda station early morning on Wednesday. They apprehend the Nigerian travelling in the A5 coach of the train and found Heroin hidden inside food packets consists of Pista and rice flour. The NCB recovered Heroin worth 6 crores from him.
“During primary investigation we found that he is a frequent traveller in the route and pick the consignment from Delhi given by another Nigerian and is to deliver it in Mumbai. The Heroin is white in color and from Afghan origin. He lives in Mumbai and visit Nigeria frequently on Business visa pretending to be doing garments business and involved in smuggling of Heroin,” said Hariom Gandhi Director NCB Gujarat.
He further added that now the trend is shifting to Heroin from Cocaine which is alarming. The accused is married and have kids and during investigation he said to be suffering from AIDS. The accused is booked under NDPS act and put inside Vadodara jail now.
