Professor Ambika Patel, Head Department of Museology, Faculty of Fine Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda has been elected as the President, ICOM India (The national committee of INDIA of International Council of Museums, Paris) from 2021 to 2024.

The International Council of Museum, located in Paris, France is the apex body representing museums and museums professionals around the world maintaining its formal relations with UNESCO. ICOM has 32 international committees and 118 national committees and ICOM India is the national committee representing India in International Council of Museums.

It is a proud moment for the university to have one of its staff being the President of the national committee representing INDIA in the world apex museums professional body. Professor Ambika Patel is also a Board member of the Asia Pacific Regional Committee of ICOM from 2019 -2023
