New Air Conditioned Coach for DEMU Train 

A very known Demu trains will have air conditioned coaches. Indian Railways make another change by developing first ever air conditioned coaches.

New AC coaches for the demu train manufactured at Indian Railways’ Chennai based Integral Coach Factory. 2 AC coach will be given to the 8-coach Demu trains. IFC also planning to roll out 4 Demu train sets each provided with 2 AC coaches. Feedback will be taken from the users and trains will manufacture according to their suggestions.

Every AC coaches will have capacity of 73 passengers. Interior of this coaches will same as intercity express train coaches.

Currently three type of Demu trains namely running on Indian Railways: 6- coach DEMU train with 700 hp, 8- coach DEMU train with 1400 hp and 10- coach DEMU train with 1600 hp.
