Camp for 200 selected Senior NCC Cadets of West Bengal, Sikkim and Gujarat

NCC Gujarat Directorate commenced a Six days ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ online camp on 10 August 2020 for 200 selected Senior NCC Cadets of West Bengal, Sikkim and Gujarat. EBSB or ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ of NCC is an annual camp for national integration conducted between paired states.

The aim of the camp is to foster a sense of unity and nationalism amongst the participating NCC cadets and familiarising with the paired states.

The theme of this online EBSB is ‘YUVA SHAKTI SE AATM NIRBHAR BHARAT KA NIRMAN’, which forms the backdrop of all the training. The main objectives of the Camp is to develop leadership skills, enhance knowledge base and public speaking abilities, peer learning through mutual interaction, foster team spirit and esprit de corps, improve soft skills, understand culture of own state and the participating state.

The Online EBSB Camp is being organised under the guidance of Major General Roy Joseph, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Diu and Daman and conducted by a team under Brigadier RK Gaikwad, Group Commander, NCC Group HQ, VV Nagar.

The topics being covered during the camp include, presentation on history, geography, economy, good practices, SWOT analysis, cultural heritage, festivals, customs & traditions of the states.

The initiatives taken by these states for ‘Aatm Nirbhar Bharat’ will be discussed in detail through various presentations, discussion and clips. Learning the language of each other like Gujarati & Bengali and Interaction in language is one of the highlights of the camp.

In addition, learning resources about cuisine and food habits, tourism sites and cultural programmes of the states will be shared extensively. Quiz and debate competitions will also be held during the course of the camp.

It is highlighted that NCC being the largest youth organization of India, the organization has quickly adapted to the e-learning medium of study for conducting NCC training.

The first day curriculum of EBSB (online) was very well received by all the attendees, giving them an excellent opportunity to interact with each other. The camp will continue upto 15 August 2020.
