Learned life skills and survival techniques in five day camp at Vadodara

Remember you stuck up in a jungle with no food to eat and surrounded with venomous snakes, is something no one wants to experience. However the survival skills is important to get out from such situation and use the local environment and things to survive till the help arrive.

This is what the third year NCC cadets of 1 Gujarat Compo Tech Regiment learns during their five day camp in Vadodara. The final day was exciting for them as they saw live identification and rescue of snakes by the Social Forestry Department and Wildlife rescue trust.

With the help of PPT they make the cadets identify the snakes and guide them about the rescue techniques. The team help the cadets identify snakes like rat, wolf, red sand boa the non poisonous and highly dangerous common cobra and Russel Wiper.

Range Forest Officer Nidhi Dave said today we are celebrating ‘World Wildlife Day’ and this year theme is human wildlife sustainable development. The demonstration here in the camp is to aware the cadets about being sensitive towards the animals and help them in case of emergency.

The cadets learned the topics like Health and Hygiene, Personality development, fire safety with demonstrations, Abroratum, in simple language tree identification in time of survival, first aid with live demo by 108 ambulance and snake byte and rescue techniques.

Other than this they learn self defence, drill, map reading, weapon training, field and battle draft which are called specialized Army subjects and common subjects like NCC, national integration, social service, civil defence and disaster management.

Around 100 cadets took part in the five days camp and learn the basic and special skills which can help them in their careers and lives.
