Navy conducts adventure hike to Girnar

With an aim to foster spirit of adventure and develop leadership qualities, courage, ‘espirit-de-corps’ amongst naval personnel, the Commanding Officer INS Valsura flagged off an adventure trek comprising 83 officers and sailors to Mt.Girnar (‘city-on-the-hill’) in Junagadh district of Gujarat on 23 Mar 18.
The adventure trek is being organised in collaboration with the Ministry of youth and cultural affairs Govt of Gujarat. The personnel will halt for a night camp at the Mountaineering training center located at the base of Girnar, the highest peak in Gujarat and shall start the climb of 10000 steps to the peak at an elevation of 3,383 feet on 24 Mar 2018.
Besides testing their stamina and endurance, the team will also raise awareness about Indian Navy amongst the local population.
