Only player from university selected in Ranji probables this season.

Its a matter of pride for MSU as their team player is selected for the MRF pace academy of India in year 2019. Nishant Patel gets a call from the BCA about the selection and will attend the academy to polish his bowling skills.

Nishant a student of faculty of Engineering and Technology is passionate about cricket and shifted to Vadodara about a decade ago to pursue his dreams. He gets training under Sanjay Hazare from the start since landed here and move ahead in his cricket career.

"Iam basically from Himmatnagar and shifted to Baroda in 2008 to pursue my dream of becoming a cricketer. I first joined the Mohindar Lala Amarnath Cricket Academy and later representing MS University cricket team from the year 2017-18-19. I am the first player to be selected in the Ranji trophy probables for the current season," said Nishant.

Nishant after completing his 10th exams shifted to Baroda for playing cricket but never left his studies behind. "I am good in academics and joined Parul university to pursue my diploma in civil engineering. In 2015 I got admission in Civil engineering in DTD in Faculty of Technology and Engineering. This is my 7th semester and and will complete the final one in December 2019. Right now I am balancing my studies and passion quite well and continue it," said Nishant.

Nishant is a Right arm pace bowler and lower order batsman. He is over 6 feet in height and use it to his advantage to swing and bounce the cricket ball. "My father noticed me using the height while bowling to the opposition and inspired me to join the game of cricket. I idolise England fast bowler James Andersan and also like Bret Lee and great Sultan of swing Wasim Akram. I am concentrating on the swing and the stint at the MRF pace academy will help me sharpen my bowling skills," said Nishant.

Nishant is presently concentrating on studies and and also moving towards his goal to become a well known cricketer. He said the family support is tremendous and with lots of sacrifices in life he is now concentrating on his studies and his passion 'cricket'. He also dream to become a part of his favorite IPL team Mumbai Indians some day in future.
