Decision taken after high level meeting on Wednesday

After a high level meeting on Wednesday it was decided to reentered the missing data in the system and make the Online Mock Test possible from 13th August 2020 onwards in the phased manner. The detailed schedule of online Mock test and examination schedule will be declared soon by the department. Earlier the exam was cancelled after the cyber attack on the portal designed for the test.

The meeting of all the Deans of Faculties/Principals of Colleges, representatives of Computer Center and representatives of COVID-19: Examinations/Academic Activities Cell was held on 5-8-2020 to discuss the matter pertaining to the Online Examinations.

The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the University. All the members were briefed about the Cyber Attack on the server which ultimately could not be hacked.

The difficulties faced in conducting the Mock Test because of artificial traffic generated by professional hackers with an intention to hack the server was explained and the fact was made explicit that the data of server is totally secure with the University despite the Cyber Attack. The Cyber Attack could slow down the operations and hampered the processes of Examinations with unlawful intensions but the data has not been stolen.

The backup of Online Examination Data has been taken from time to time. Due to the observed abnormal traffic that kept server operations on peak just day before the online Examinations, the server was upgraded but during the process certain images and data uploaded especially on last two days (30th and 31st July) could not be retrieved and as a result, this specific data is not visible in the system. Therefore, the Online Mock Test and the Final Examinations was kept on hold till further orders.

It was decided during the meeting that missing data is to be reentered in the system in next few days so as to make the Online Mock Test possible from 13th August 2020 onwards in the phased manner.

The detailed schedule of the Online Mock Test will be declared in the beginning of the next week. The detailed schedule of the Online Examination will also be declared in due course of time.

Moreover, those students who have not received their Login Credentials for online Mock/Final Examinations and needs to update their data for the same are informed to provide the required data in the Google Form latest by 6th August 2020 till 5:30 pm and those students who have already received the Login Credentials are informed that they can use the same for Mock/Final Exams and need not provide new data. The Login Credential for the remaining students will be sent to the students before 12th August 2020.
