Prof.(Dr.) Bhavna Mehta Faculty of Social Work and Director Office of Corporate Affairs, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda has been awarded a life long fellowship for an enlightened social leadership journey from the ‘Aspire Circle’ - a not-for-profit forum for promoting enlightened social leadership in India through Fellowships and Research.

The Fellowship is received by Prof Mehta on completing journey of an enlightening social leadership through four Socratic Dialogue retreats with peers from CSR, Corporate Foundations / Family Offices, Social Entrepreneurs, Impact Investors, NGOs & Non-Profits, Academics, etc.

The objective of the retreats were to build a Fellowship, a sense of camaraderie or kinship amongst the participants, create a safe space to converse, build new friendships, be inspired and most importantly, learn more about and contribute to the notion of “enlightened” social leadership with Dr. Pradip Khandwalla, former IIMA Director as a Lead Moderator for these retreats.

Aspire Circle’s illustrious board is led by Elaben Bhatt (Padma Bhushan & Founder of SEWA), Pradip Khandwalla (Former IIMA Director), Shri Vijay Mahajan, (Founder BASIX, Social Enterprise Group) amongst others. So far there are around 140 fellows across the sector who have been awarded this fellowship over past five years. Prof Bhavna Mehta is the only academician so far invited from any university of the country and awarded the fellowship.
