MSU Arts Faculty dean arrested in teachers recruitment scam in Jodhpur

The Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) Baroda authorities are waiting for the police report to decide the further action on the arrest of Faculty of Arts dean Prof. Pradeep Singh Choondawat. Choondawat was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths in Jodhpur in connection with teacher’s recruitment scam in Jodhpur based Jai Narayan Vyas University.

This is the first instance where the sitting dean in the MSU was arrested by the police. Prof. Choondawat was arrested by the ACB in connection with the teacher’s recruitment scam in the JNVU in 2012. Choondawat was invited as a subject expert in the selection committee for appointment of Assistant professor in Sociology department. The MSU is waiting for the report to decide further course of action in this matter.

“We are waiting for the official communication from the police in the matter and we are trying to access and get the details. After the official communication we will be deciding the further course of action according to the rules,” said Dr.neerja jaiswal Registrar (OSD) MSU Baroda.

Earlier ACB arrested former VC of JNVU B.S. Rajpurohit, former MLA from Jodhpur and Congress leader Jugal Kabra, Suspended Prof. of JNVU Dungar Singh Khimchi, former professor of JNVU A.S. Sharma and former professor of Sukhadia University Dariyav Singh Chundavat in connection with the recruitment scam.

Pro.chundavat were on a holiday till 19th but after that he was not present on duty so on the basis of media report university sought clarification through official mail and for the procedures of Arts faculty charge is given to vice dean Krishnan
